OD Café | Practical Management – A New Conversation About How Managers Develop
January 28 @ 9:00 am – 10:30 am UTC+0
At WorldsView, we believe organisations flourish when they are effective in a healthy way – when performance, integrity, and human dignity reinforce one another rather than compete. In this view, management is not a technical role or a stepping stone to an executive role. It is a core professional practice that shapes how strategy is realised, how people experience work, and how organisations grow.
Our January Conversation Café marks the soft launch of Practical Management, WorldsView’s new core management development curriculum. This session opens a conversation about what meaningful management development must look like in today’s organisational reality.
Too often, management development focuses on content: courses, frameworks, tools, and competencies. In this Café, we will shift attention to process and philosophy:
- How do managers really develop?
- What kinds of learning change how managers think, decide, and act?
- What does it mean to grow managers who can build organisations that are both effective and healthy?
We will introduce Practical Management as a lean, modular curriculum built around seven core domains of managerial practice.
This session will offer:
- A light overview of the structure and intent of Practical Management,
- An introduction to WorldsView’s Organisational Development philosophy,
- A facilitated conversation inviting critique, reflection, and dialogue,
- An opportunity to help shape how this curriculum evolves through 2026.
This is not a sales presentation. It is an opening inquiry into how we can develop managers who:
- think systemically,
- act ethically,
- lead humanly, and
- contribute to organisations that are robust, resilient, and alive.
If you care about building organisations that perform well and develop great humans, this conversation is for you.
Join us as we begin a year-long exploration into the craft of management.
