Register for our 21 May 2025 conversation café where we zoom out again and look at Organisation Design, asking Who Designs the Organisation?
Organisation Design – the look, shape and feel of an organisation – is a niche profession. Do you know anybody who says they are an organisation designer? And yet organisations manage to get a look, a shape, a feel – even if no designer was present. What is happening there?
In a somewhat useful analogy – not every house is designed by an architect. Very few are – as a percentage of all houses built. Some houses end up ugly – or worse: ugly and dysfunctional. Others are magnificent. Without an architect, who designed the house? The best usually have an architect’s hand involved – but some great homes were owner-designed in collaboration with a good contractor.
The design of a house is only useful as an analogy – because unlike a house, an organisation keeps evolving. It changes its look, shape, and feel. How and why does it do that?
Register here for our 21 May 2025 online, 90-minute conversation café – and join as we peek at some of the forces that shape organisations. We will help you to identify those forces, and to get a glimpse of their impact on the way an organisation operates. As ever, you will be invited to participate in the conversation. We do hope to see you there!
We will look at the forces and the people that design your organisation. Organisations are designed, even if not “by design.” There are forces that shape organisations. Learning to identify them and knowing how to work with them is useful.
