Leadership & Management Development

Solid leaders and managers are the key to success in your organisational world and building agood leadership pipeline is key! Having a great leadership bench enables internal mobility of your candidates, and offers career growth opportunities within your business. Build and enable your talent so that they can take your business into the future.

Are you going through a major transformation, and need aligned leadership? Do you need your leaders to lead into the same direction, speak the same language, and display the same leadership behaviours? Transformations are fundamentally disruptive, and a lack of clarity and direction can make the organisation stall and falter.

Do new managers struggle to come to grips with the new role? Leading teams and managing people is a different discipline from that of technical expertise. Many new managers find it hard to understand that it is now longer their own technical work that matters, but how they are able to shape the performance of others.

Are there specific, individual leaders in your business who are not performing to expectation? There may be many reasons for leadership underperformance, from a lack of focus and clarity about their role, to deficient leadership and management knowledge and skills, to burn-out and fatigue. How do you understand and address the issue of individual competence and performance?

Have you done “leadership and management development before, and the results were underwhelming? The leadership and management development was so generic, on the one hand, and so theoretical and disconnected from practice, on the other hand, that it made no difference to leadership performance. Let’s make a change in your Leadership Development approach.

Heart of Leadership ©

The Heart of Leadership © workshop offers an opportunity to reignite your leadership enthusiasm and to lift your leadership motivation, while growing your energy, power and influence in your world. You will reconnect with your Inner Leader, and explore again fundamental questions of leadership power.

The Workshop

The Heart of Leadership © workshop offers an opportunity to reignite your leadership enthusiasm and to lift your leadership motivation, while growing your energy, power and influence in your world. You will reconnect with your Inner Leader, and explore again fundamental questions of leadership power: Why do you want to be a leader? What kind of a leader are you, and do you wish to be? How do you keep growing as a leader? Why does it matter?

What will be covered?

In today’s fast-paced VUCA world, it is easy for leaders to lose connection with their passion for making a difference, and to forget why they wanted to become leaders in the first place. Leadership is about making a meaningful impact on our organisations and communities, and to remain effective and influential we need to maintain high levels of energy and focus.

At the heart of leadership is self-leadership: it is about making a positive choice to show up as a leader, harnessing your energy and building resilience to increase your power and influence in a healthy way. As leaders, we need to deal with the challenges of a turbulent world: honing our sense of purpose and meaning, avoiding the busyness trap, and managing ourselves in such a way that we don’t suffer exhaustion and burnout.

All participants should discover something about themselves that they did not know, gain key insights into how they can have a greater leadership impact and understand, at a ‘heart’ level, some of the critical issues that are associated with influencing a community of people to move towards a higher objective.

The day unfolds in conversation, collaboration, laughter and insights through activities, robust theory underpinning the principles, peer coaching and self-discovery. This is guided by an accredited facilitator who will ensure the energy, framework, timekeeping and topics all weave together to form a day that guides people to become better leaders.

They will be ready to move into the world as catalytic change agents to ignite a ‘fire into the belly’ of the people they choose to lead.

Who should attend?

Heart of Leadership © is a catalytic one-day workshop that ignites a ‘fire in the belly’ of individuals who wish to stand up and make a difference in their world.

Nine conversations in Leadership ™

For organisations seeking sustainable, results-orientated leadership development, Nine Conversations in Leadership™ is an innovative intervention that acts as a catalyst for long-term leadership development throughout the organisation.

Unlike other leadership programmes, the Nine Conversations in Leadership™  intervention works at the levels of knowledge, values and behaviours to achieve holistic leadership growth.

What will be covered?

The intervention consists of nine facilitated conversations that occur within a small peer group (comprising of up to ten people), referred to as a leadership cell. The purpose of each conversation is to share and learn from one another’s leadership challenges and successes and to co-create ideas and solutions from shared learning and wisdom.

The Nine Conversations in Leadership™ intervention fuses organisational development and traditional training in a workshop format. It uses 360° feedback, peer coaching and personal development planning to create strong, committed and aligned leaders at all levels of the organisation.

The intervention examines leadership in the realms of Head (knowing), Heart (being) and Hands (doing). It brings participants together repeatedly, to explore and cover all aspects of leadership, from organisational leadership to team leadership and the leadership of individuals and self.

Leadership alignment is a critical component for harnessing organisational energy to achieve the organisation’s vision, values and strategy. The Nine Conversations in Leadership intervention assists organisations to achieve such alignment.

Self-assessment and peer feedback are key leadership development tools which constitute the foundations of self-leadership and whilst leaders develop through experience, they can accelerate their readiness to lead by receiving constructive feedback. Assessments are made in the areas of knowledge, attitude and behaviour, all of which are developed during the leadership journey.

Ready to Lead

Organisations thrive with the right leadership!

One of the ways you can ensure great leadership into the future is with a strong leadership pipeline. Make sure that you have a clear view of high potential talent and then prepare them for when the leadership opportunity arises!

Are the future leaders of your organization ready to embark on their leadership journey? The prospect of becoming a leader is attractive to most, yet few are prepared for the shift required. To lead is a choice we make, and it is a choice that confronts us with our relationships to Self and Others in profound ways.

In the workshop

Choice requires agency – the belief that we have a choice and the willingness to exercise that choice; yet at each development stage this choice is more or less constrained. Typically for people preparing for a leadership role, their agency is limited to normative agency within their group, and they need to embark on a process of stepping up and claiming their leadership agency. In short, they need to develop a sense of self that will enable independent action.

Ready to Lead is a 2-day workshop of self-discovery to enable authentic agency. Participants build their own “Leadership Compass” to Centre their Leadership Presence: how they show up in relationship to themselves and to each other.

The four cardinal points
  • Choosing a meaningful life – discovering your personal leadership vision and purpose
  • Choosing what matters – exploring the values by which you lead and live
  • Choosing to give your best – gaining deeper awareness and recognition of your talents and strengths
  • Choosing to grow – gaining awareness of your habitual style and habits, and the forces that shape them

Ready to Lead uses a strengths-based approach to help participants develop their own bespoke approach to leading themselves and others. The program is co-facilitated by a Gallup certified strengths coach.

Who should attend?
  • Practitioners involved in talent, learning and development, leadership and succession planning can send delegates that they have identified for this type of development work
  • Practitioners involved in talent, learning and development, leadership and succession planning can attend themselves to experience the program before in-house training is arranged (facilitator accreditation also an option)

New Manager Bootcamp

We can help you to build organisation wide manager competence fast and reliably.

To become a manager is to practice a new discipline, different from just doing the work yourself. Now you have to get others to show up and give their best. It sounds simple, but it requires a whole new way of thinking about your work and what it takes to be successful. It takes more than traditional management development.

Are you first-time and less experienced managers struggling to make the transition to their new management role?

Did you send them on MDP’s, but they still fail to get top performance from their teams?

Are the best people unhappy and leaving your organisation?

In the workshop

We build a bridge between learning about management and leadership, and the actual work of managing teams and individuals in the workplace to deliver high performance.

Our New Manager Bootcamp brings new managers in the organisation together to develop effective and healthy management practices to ensure that your strategy gets executed, that the business succeeds, and that you keep, and keep attracting, the best people out there.

The New Manager Bootcamp is a transformational experience where new managers explore the three domains and twelve themes of managing their teams and their people to achieve great performance outcomes in the context of organisational strategy.
